
Starting October 5, unsuspecting Cablevision subscribers throughout Nassau County will find behavioral health television programming in their homes every Wednesday at 11:30 AM. That's right, we've just expanded our broadcast of Talk Therapy TV to a brand new TV station and will be reaching thousands of more people every single week with our message of awareness, treatment and recovery. 2 Comments As part of the Behavioral Health Recognition Month Celebration, Talk Therapy TV will be offering free workshops on a range of topics related to the latest developments in mental illness and addictions treatment. You can learn about the Trauma Resiliency Model, advances in dual-diagnosis treatment, multicultural competency, and vocational rehabilitation and recovery. The workshops are open to the public and are suitable for professionals and laymen. CASAC credits are being offered to those who may be interested. Online registration is required to attend these limited space workshops. As a Planning Partner of National Recovery Month, Talk Therapy TV joined SAMHSA and the other Planning Partners on September 8 at the National Press Club in Washington DC for the official kickoff of National Recovery Month. Speakers included SAMHSA Administrator Pam Hyde, White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Gil Kerlikowski, CSAT Director Dr. Westley Clark, and many others. Additionally, data from the 2010 SAMHSA National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) was released for the first time. To learn more about those findings click here.
