The National Association of Social Workers awarded the Talk Therapy TV show an NASW Media Award for best portrayal of social workers on TV.  The award was earned after hundreds voted online and overwhelmingly chose Talk Therapy TV for it's outstanding work in raising public awareness and understanding of mental illnesses and addictions.  Thanks to all of our wonderful viewers whose feedback and votes made this possible.

  • Partnered with SAMHSA in promotion of the Voice Awards
  • Became a Planning Partner for SAMHSA's National Recovery Month
  • Inspired the New York State Senate and Assembly to jointly proclaim October as Behavioral Health Recognition Month
  • Presented the first ever Behavioral Health Recognition Month Celebration at the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum with distinguished speakers, music, workshops, and exhibitors
  • Achieved more than 100,000 unique Google verified visitors to our information packed website
  • Developed and broadcast 110 hours of original behavioral health public access television programming
  • Launched a YouTube Channel with more than 90 YouTube optimized videos, 800 subscribers, and 35,000 video views
  • Expanded the Mental Health Quick Facts campaign to twenty grocery stores, distributing over 5 million receipts in 2011
  • Added additional public access TV stations, expanding our broadcast reach to a total of 1.6 million households
  • Participated in the White House Forum on Community Needs on behalf of the mental health community

_October 2011 was New York's first ever Behavioral Health Recognition Month.  We celebrated at the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum with inspiring and informative speakers and lots of incredible performers.  Over the next several weeks we will bringing you a special 6 part TV series with highlights from the speakers and performers.  The Spotlight On Behavioral Health Recognition Month will be airing on our 5 channels throughout New York City and Long Island.  The full TV schedule for your area is now available online.

Starting in January 2012, Talk Therapy TV will be broadcasting on Queens Public Television (QPTV) in new and improved time slots.  We will be airing every Thursday at 7:00 PM on Channel 35 (Prime Time) with a rerun on Friday at 4:00 PM on Channel 35.

We'll be starting of the year with a special series of speakers and performers from the 2011 Behavioral Health Recognition Month Celebration so be sure to tune in.

_In honor of Veterans Day, we have released a new veterans mental health resources web-page.  The resources include videos on topics like, mental illness warning signs and symptoms, women veterans, SAMHSA and Military Families, Peer Support for Veterans, Iraq/Afghanistan Vs. Other Veterans, and many more.  Additionally, there are several links to other excellent online resources for veterans mental health. 

This Veterans Day let's focus on how we can truly help and support our veterans.  Please share the resource page and spread the message of hope and recovery for all of our vets.
